2017 Annual Gayle Brinkenhoff Symposium

On November 14, RevitaLash® Cosmetics and City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment center, hosted the Fourth Annual Gayle Brinkenhoff Breast Cancer Symposium, which brought global research scientists and clinicians together at the City of Hope campus in Duarte, CaliforniaThe symposium highlighted recent developments, advances and best practices in the field and recognized the potential impact of new developments for targeted, personalized breast cancer treatment.

“Year over year, I am awe-struck at the breadth of interesting and relevant subjects that each of our guest speakers share at this symposium,” expressed Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff, founder and CEO of RevitaLash® Cosmetics.  “It’s a promising reminder of all the good work being done in the field of breast cancer research, reaching for a cure beyond conventional treatment and looking to the future in a more integrated and holistic approach.”

This year’s symposium attracted 128 attendees and provided a live-feed webinar for those unable to attend.  Following the Keynote Address were six distinguished faculty members, offering exciting research findings.  The symposium was accredited for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits by the City of Hope Department of Continuing Medical Education.  Michael Brinkenhoff, M.D. and RevitaLash Cosmetics engaged the City of Hope Continuing Medical Education department in 2016 and have since increased awareness of this program through various efforts.

“The exciting breakthroughs presented at this symposium brought the future of breast cancer treatment, detection and prevention to life,”, shared Dr. Linda H. Malkas, Deputy Director of Basic Research, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.  “This will impact our research community and we are so grateful for this opportunity given to us by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff, his Family and Revitalash Cosmetics.”

At the heart of the RevitaLash Cosmetics brand are its philanthropic endeavors and commitment to breast cancer research and education. This mission is dear to Dr. Brinkenhoff who attributes the creation of RevitaLash Cosmetics to his wife and Co-Founder, Gayle Brinkenhoff, who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at the age of 32.
