We want to take this opportunity to help educate our customers on the importance of vegan beauty products, the impact they have on the environment and the difference between vegan-friendly and cruelty free.
In its essence, vegan beauty means the absence of animal ingredients, while cruelty-free refers to a product that doesn’t test on animals. In other words, it’s possible for a vegan item to have been tested on an animal and a cruelty-free product to contain animal ingredients. In addition to animal cruelty, another majorly concerning factor of the animal-based beauty industry is the harmful effects that the production of animal-based beauty products has on the environment; causing air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation.
